This product was designed for one of our Doctor clients who was interested in developing an individual pill dispenser device to improve patient care in the hospital environment.
Some patients, prescribed narcotics to ease the pain, have to wait for some time for a nurse to administer the pills. This device is designed to give the patient more control when he needs the pills without having to worry about the patient abusing the frequency of administering the meds and over dosing.

Our challenges were to design a “safe- like” unit using a unique access code for each patient with a built-in timer set by pharmacy staff. Patients can take the pill when needed only after a pre-set time has passed since they last took a pill. This design eliminates the wait for nursing staff assistance, reduces the workload for nurses and helps patients by giving them control over their pain management.
