The new Wireless-Pro Dock is out on the market. Vertex was responsible for the design and engineering from the ground up.

In this design effort, we had a few challenges to overcome. First, we had to make sure that a one-hand operation was possible for inserting and removing the phone from the dock. This led us to design an internal double rack and pinion mechanism. When one side of the latch is being pushed to fit a phone, the opposite side of the latch is moving at the same rate as well, resulting in placing the phone in the center of the dock every time.
We also had to make sure that the wireless pad and electronics would be as close to the phone's back surface as possible and that internal LED lights would travel along curved light pipes to the outside surface.
